Come and paddle with Carole and Andrew Westwood!

Passionate about canoeing, Andrew and Carole have instructed courses for many years across North America. As innovators of new teaching progressions for white-water canoeing skills, Andrew and Carole work together to bring technique videos to a wide audience through their Westwood Outdoors YouTube channel. Over the years they have written dozens of articles for various paddling magazines, have authored a canoeing instructional book/DVD, and have had several types of media coverage both nationally and internationally.

They both are Advanced Instructor Trainers with Paddle Canada and are instrumental in evolving the National Moving Water Program and updating instructor manuals.

As successful open canoe athletes, they have also garnered many first-place finishes in local and international open canoe slalom events.

During canoe courses, Andrew and Carole bring their unique teaching skills to help you understand how the canoe moves, and how best to use the force of the water to your advantage. They’ll teach you how to move your boat efficiently, make moves easily and go magically fast in current.

You will experience simplified methods of water reading skills, be exposed to innovative manoeuvres, see inventive stroke techniques and overall learn through the Westwoods’ experience in using specialized teaching methods.

Carole’s mindful approach to improving paddling skills and mentally managing the sometimes scary parts of paddling, and Andrew’s simplified break down of canoe movement may be just the combination to help you hone your paddling skills.
